Engineering Lead – Trailers and Skids
Summary: The Engineering Lead coordinates design activities for the Trailers and Skids design group, allocating resources and prioritizing projects and daily work for the team.
This position applies knowledge of mechanical systems and components to support the functional and physical requirements of all Stellar Industries trailers and skids, including Agricultural Trailers, Utility and Telecom Trailers, Jet Heat Trailers, Fuel and Lube Trailers, and Lube Skids.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Manage allocation of team members to different duties and projects.
• Assist in prioritizing work and managing the group to deliver designs as scheduled.
• Review designs to specifications and ensure compliance with desired features and performance.
• Ensure designed equipment conforms to regulatory requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Assist in the hiring, training, and professional/technical development of engineering personnel within the Trailers and Skids Engineering group.
• Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.
• Follow all safety rules as laid out in the company employee handbook and other supplemental safety training. Continuously promote a culture of working safety.
General Competencies and Skills:
• Ability to plan and organize departmental work schedules.
• General knowledge of Microsoft 365 products with proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Capable of reading and accurately interpreting engineering drawings and other technical documents.
• Ability to effectively communicate through written and oral means.
• Analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems associated with the automotive and work truck industry.
• Strong applied mathematics skills, including physics, trigonometry, and statistics.
• Working knowledge of 2D and 3D design software required.
• Knowledge of ERP software and associated systems preferred.
• Be willing to work both independently and in a team environment.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering or related field.
Physical Requirements:
• Regular standing, walking, and use of hands to feel or handle objects, tools, and controls.
• Frequent verbal communication required.
• Ability to lift and manipulate up to 40lbs

• Company sponsored continuing education and training.
• Some overnight travel may be required.
